How can I get tickets?

  • Over the phone using credit or debit cards, please call us on: 0844 5678 666, (open between 10am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 12pm-8pm on Saturday).
  • You can book online using our secure bookings page (booking fee applies).
  • There is sometimes limited availability for tickets to be purchased on the bus in cash, these are not guaranteed to be available and we would advise you to arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the tour you wish to go on.
  • We advise you to arrive 10 minutes before the start of your tour as the bus cannot wait for latecomers and your tickets are non transferrable.

What payment types do you accept?

  • All major debit and credit cards, except American Express over the phone and online.
  • Cash only for walk up tickets
  • We will accept a cheque for a group booking if it is received at least one week before your tour.

Are there concession tickets available?

  • Yes, we have a concessionary rate for Students, senior citizens and children under 15.
  • Please call 0844 5678 666 for group rates.

Can I arrange a group booking?

  • Yes, group bookings can be made for 12 -62 people.

Do I have to book in advance?

  • It is advisable to book in advance as tours operate subject to demand and we cannot guarantee seats to be available on the door.

Cancellations and Refunds

  • We reserve the right to cancel or suspend services as deemed necessary and without issuing advanced notice. In the event of a tour cancellation a full refund for tickets purchased, or transfer to an alternative tour is available.

If the tour is stopped for some reason within the first half hour, we can offer you a place on another tour at a date convenient to you, or a refund.

What days do you operate?

  • Tour frequency is subject to seasonal demand, please call 08445678 666 to check availability or check the Tour Info section of the website.
  • We do not operate on the 24th, 25th and 26th of December.

Is the bus available for private hire?

  • Yes, please download our e-brochure or call us on 0844 5678 666 and we can arrange something fantastic or ghoulish to suit you!

What are the tour times?

  • Please note that tours operate subject to seasonal demand. Departure times are: 6pm (Subject to availability), 7:30pm & 9:00pm. Please check what times are available when booking.

Where does the tour leave from?

  • Northumberland Avenue, outside the Grand Hotel, just off Trafalgar Square. The Nearest Tubes are Charing Cross and Embankment. Please see tour info on this website for a map.

How long is the tour?

  • The tour lasts for an hour and fifteen minutes, nonstop.
  • Please note there are no toilet facilities on the bus.

What is the Ghost Bus Tours policy on children?

  • The Ghost Bus Tours are not suitable for young children.
  • Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult.
  • Only one child under 5 years old per adult may travel for free provided they do not occupy a seat to the exclusion of a fare paying passenger.

What is the Ghost Bus Tours policy on alcohol?

No alcohol is permitted on the bus, or is to be consumed on the bus unless the bus is being hired exclusively by a private party (over 18’s only) by prior arrangement with the management.

Is the Bus Wheelchair accessible?

  • Due to the design of the Routemaster bus it has not been possible to make the entrance wheelchair accessible.

  • The Ghost Bus Tours take no responsibility for items left on the bus, personal items are carried at the owners risk and The Ghost Bus can take no responsibility for items damaged or lost.
  • Smoking, eating and drinks other than bottled water are not permitted on the bus.

Terms & Conditions

  1. The Ghost Bus Tours are not suitable for young children.
  2. Children aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult.
  3. Only one child under 5 years old per adult may travel for free provided they do not occupy a seat to the exclusion of a fare paying passenger.
  4. The ticket is valid for use on the Ghost Bus Tour only for the time and date stated on the ticket.
  5. The bus cannot wait for latecomers, refunds will not be given although a transfer to another tour may be arranged subject to availability.
  6. The ticket remains the property of the company and must be made available for inspection by the conductor or driver on demand.
  7. Tickets are non refundable and non transferrable.
  8. We reserve the right to cancel or suspend services as deemed necessary and without issuing advanced notice. In the event of a tour cancellation a full refund for tickets purchased, or transfer to an alternative tour is available.
  9. If the tour is stopped for some reason after the first half hour, we can offer you a place on another tour, free of charge, subject to availability.
  10. Conditions of carriage are subject to the provisions made by the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981; full details are available from our office.
  11. The Ghost Bus Tours take no responsibility for items left on the bus, personal items are carried at the owners risk and The Ghost Bus can take no responsibility for items damaged or lost.
  12. Smoking, eating and drinks other than bottled water are not permitted on the bus.
  13. Ghost Bus Tours reserves the right to refuse entry to intoxicated persons, and will not tolerate in any way abusive or threatening behaviour to staff. In such instances tickets will not be refunded.
  14. The Ghost Bus Tours asks that passengers are mindful of others during the tour, and anyone behaving in a disruptive manner will be asked to disembark.
  15. Wedding hire. If hiring the bus for wedding transport customers must take out their own wedding transport insurance as the Ghost Bus Tours cannot accept liability for alternative transport provision in the event of serious mechanical or technical failure of the bus.
  16. Please be aware that we operate on historic vehicles and as such whilst we try our upmost to maintain the buses to the highest standards on occasion the buses may encounter mechanical problems. In the event of a breakdown we will attempt to fix the problem or deploy a secondary vehicle within 90 minutes of the problem occurring. Only after 90 minutes has passed will refunds be guaranteed.

The Ghost Bus Tours Access Policy.
It is not the policy of the Ghost Bus Tours Ltd to discriminate in any way against employees or passengers regarding disability, gender, race, sexual orientation or religious beliefs. The buses owned by the company are 1960's Routemasters. They consist of a drivers’ cab, a lower saloon and an upper saloon and are staffed by one conductor per bus. The bus holds 54 or 64 passengers, respectively, and absolutely no standing passengers. The Ghost Bus Tours Ltd regrets that the bus is not wheelchair accessible. The Ghost Bus tours can reserve seating in advance for the lower saloon for those with mobility concerns. We aim to make our booking process as accessible as possible by providing internet, phone and fax booking facilities.   1. The bus does not stop on route; the journey time is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  2. There are no toilet or water facilities on the bus, but passengers may bring their own non alcoholic bottled drinks aboard.

The Ghost Bus Tours Ltd actively seek ways to include as many people as possible, and has a long term commitment to developing tours which can cater for diverse audiences within the physical confines of the bus, whilst adhering to DDA guidelines.

The Ghost Bus Tours will not share any customer information with third parties, and retains financial information only for the duration of the transaction.
