The most haunted places in the World

 In blog

Our planet is fascinating and there are so many amazing places to travel to and explore. There are a variety of reasons that people will travel to places in the world, but one that you might not instantly think of is because they are haunted.

If you like to think of yourself as a spooky traveller, someone who is on the hunt for a ghost or two, then you are going to want to check out our guide to the most haunted places in the world.

Hoia-Baciu Forest in Romania

Back in 1968 a military technician shared a photograph of what he thought was a UFO hovering over the forest in Romania. Since that time, this forest has become a paranormal hotspot and many people believe that those who visit the forest actually end up disappearing. At the very least, many visitors have reported feelings of anxiety, nausea and rashes appearing when they have been to the forest.

Eastern State Penitentiary, Philadelphia

Just one look inside this old prison and you can see why it is one of the scariest places on Earth. Built in 1829, this prison was designed solely for solitary confinement. Those who were spending their prison term there would live alone, ate alone and exercise alone. When a prisoner would move from his cell, his head would be covered with a hood which would stop him from being seen or seeing anyone around him. The prison was known to be a place of torture and mis-treatment and therefore it comes as little surprise that it is now a hotspot for ghosts and spirits to haunt.

Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel in Canada

From the outside this particular hotel looks particularly imposing, but it is only when you get inside that you realise just how spooky it is. It has been said that there are many ghosts who call it their home; including a bride who fell down the stairs during her wedding day. There is also thought to be a spirit of a bellman who helps people with their bags, before disappearing into thin air.

Tower of London in England

London is a fantastic city to travel to if you are looking for something spooky. Known for a long and bloody history, one of the best places to head to has to be the Tower of London. Built by William the Conqueror during 1066 it had a number of functions. This included a prison and an execution site. The Tower of London is where Henry VIII beheaded his two wives and also where two young princes were imprisoned never to be seen again. Needless to say, it has become a spot well known for being a home to ghosts.

We live in a pretty spooky world and there seems to be things going on every single day of the week all around the world. So, why not plan in a spot of ghost like travels and see what you can discover? You may be surprised by what you may see!
